Our president, Cecil Weefur, is Liberian, and he has set a strong leadership foundation in place. Cecil’s heart for Liberia is evident in his hard work and in his personal sacrifice to ensure a better tomorrow for many children in Liberia.

Our current projects are designed to partner with schools, orphanages, and organizations that share our vision of offering sustainable resources to children who need a “hand-up,” not a “handout.”

Koko Children’s Village Orphanage
During the 2009 mission trip, your donations helped to provide bunk-beds, window screens, cooking utensils, clothing, shoes and food for the 35 children and 5 house parents. We are working to make sure that all of these children are educated and given a reasonable opportunity to thrive and be healthy.
Since 1998, we have worked to ensure that children in impoverished or war-torn situations are provided with support. We have focused most of our attention on the children of a small country in West Africa: Liberia.Malnutrition and illiteracy rates, in Liberia, are among the highest in the world and more than half of Liberian children are not in school. Over half of Liberia’s three million people are children under the age of fifteen. We consider the plight of these children a cause too important to ignore.
As you look at the faces of the children for whom we work, we hope that you will see, not poor children, not children who are begging for help, but children who have dignity and determination and ask instead for opportunity. We, therefore, strive to give them not handouts but hand-ups, so that they may become all that they were created to be. We believe that none are whole until all are whole.
Each Child Counts Foundation is focused on serving the needs of children in war ravaged countries. At this time, we are working in Liberia, West Africa. We currently administer a scholarship program in Monrovia and are building a school in Clay Ashland, Liberia.
We are also partnering with We Care, an NGO (Library) in Liberia that is available for anyone to come as the country continues to build its literacy rate. One of our board members, Michael Weah, and a small staff run the Library and work with the schools to help provide books and other resources.
Since our inception, 95% of all donations have directly benefitted the children. We work diligently to keep our overhead costs extremely low and our board is very active in personal giving to our projects. All of your gifts are tax deductible!

“Each One Serves One” Project:
This is a service training and opportunity program. We give urban children in the United States the opportunity to learn and provide service to children less fortunate than themselves. Our focus is to prepare these youths for lifelong service to others.
Mason Center School Project:
This is a 400 student school that ECCF has been working with for several years. Our primary objective is to raise the standard of education for this school by supplying computers, books, supplies and other learning aids. We have partnered with the staff and administration to identify students who are in need of scholarship assistance. Although we have helped to raise the school to a level where costs would normally be significantly higher we have been able to retain scholarship students at a rate of $100USD per year.
How you can help:
We need partners to come on board to underwrite scholarships or provide assistance for purchasing supplies on the ground in Liberia.
