How did you get started with music?
Listening to my dad’s songs, mostly riding in the car with him from Central Cali to Los Angeles when I was little. I would try to mimic the verses and sing the hooks… it was fun! Also I starred in the Tupac ft Nas “ Thugz
Mansion” video. It changed my life.
What are you currently working on?
My first full length album, it’s gonna be a classic. I’ve been touring all over the country doing my own shows and Radio Disney concerts. I also just wrapped my first feature film called “Caught On Tape”…it’s a Hip Hop musical and I co-star with Vivica Fox, Cedric The Entertainer, Bokeem Woodbine, Angie Stone…tons of people…my Uncle Sticky Fingaz wrote & directed it, he’s also the star!
What kind of music do you listen to for influence?
All kinds of music… Jazz, Classical, Rock, Gospel, and of course Hip Hop & R ‘n B.
What is your opinion on mainstream music today?
I like that it’s fun and energetic.
Who do you admire?
My Dad and my Mom! In the music biz I admire the messages in Kanye & Common’s songs.
Why would people listen to your music?
I’m dope! Hahahaha and confident, I got a lot to say, I feel I’m the voice of the new young generation in Hip Hop. I’m having fun with it but I take it serious… I stand by what I write and say in my songs.
Who have you worked with and how has it affected you?
I’ve worked with my Uncle Sticky Fingaz… he’s a legend! He’s schooled me on how to be more on point when I freestyle. My Uncle Tank… he’s so passionate when he sings man, you should see his face when he’s in the booth. I’m aggressive when I record my raps, I learned that people truly can feel what you are saying if you deliver it with real emotion and feeling. Ca$his from Shady Records… He’s a supa dope lyricist… he let me know to stay on my grind, no doubt. Just to name a few…
