Job Seeker Services: Youth Program Services
Programs Services are offered at no charge to youth from 14 to 21 years of age who are residents of San Mateo County. Staff are available at 650-301-8492 in Daly City; 650-301-8492 in San Carlos; 650-599-3872 in Redwood City; or 650-462-6300 in Menlo Park. The following briefly describes the major program available and how to get more information on it.
Jobs for Youth provides assistance for youth who are looking for a job and employers who wish to list a job opening. Youth wanting services should follow the steps below.Pick up an application from your school career center, or call one of the four numbers above for the application and to make an appointment.
You will need proof of your legal right to work which includes one of the following:
United States birth certificate
Social Security card and a state-issued driver’s license or identification card
Resident Alien Card
United States passport or other specific documents.
Work Permits
Students who wish to work need to get a Permit to Employ and Work other than for odd jobs such as yard work and baby-sitting. Get the permit from the public school district in which you live, or possibly your private school.
